On successful completion of this course, delegates will be able to:-
Appreciate the legal responsibilities of Employers under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, Fire Precautions Act 1971, The management of Health & Safety Regulations 1992, the Workplace (Health, Safety & Welfare) Regulations 1992 and the Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations 1997.
Identify typical fire hazards
Understand the significance of a Fire Certificate where appropriate
Understand the need for the provision & maintenance of suitably signed escape routes
Implement fire risk assessments within the workplace
Maintain assessments in accordance with the legal requirements
Carry out and record fire alarm tests
Visually check fire fighting equipment is in good condition and in-date
Testing of Emergency lighting
Conduct staff training for their particular branch on the above matters
